Sylmasta Regular Cushioned Micro Abrasives are ideal for the polishing and finishing of acrylic, plastic, polycarbonate, GRP, composite, fibreglass, hard polyurethane, gelcoat, lacquers, soft wood etc. Sylmasta cushioned abrasives are made using a cotton-backed, flexible layer holding in the micromesh sized abrasive grits for an exceptionally high finish. The flexible backing prevents the abrasive grit from digging into the surface if too much pressure is applied. It also means the abrasive cuts across the surface in a planing motion instead of cutting into the surface aggressively like a regular sandpaper. This means the final scratch pattern is even, regular and without random, uneven scratches. The range of grades goes from 1500 to 12000. The 1500 scratch pattern is equivalent to 400 wet/dry but with a higher quality finish.
